After a detour to visit Niagara Falls (more to follow) we are officially on Pennsylvania soil. Only thirteen more miles to Erie, PA where we stop for the night. Erie is named after the Native American tribe and the Great Lake that it borders. It is the 4th largest city in Pennsylvania with a population of roughly 102,000. Definitely a change of pace from my hometown of 4,000, however, there is a Presque Isle, PA close by.
